Preventive Health 101: How to Eat and Live to Prevent Disease

Get Serious About Your Health

Despite how much we know about the benefits of healthy habits, chronic disease continues to increase worldwide.

Defined by the CDC, chronic diseases are conditions that last 1 year or more and require ongoing medical attention or limit daily living activities. For example, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes are all preventable chronic conditions, yet they are the leading causes of death and disability in the United States.

Our lifestyle choices widely impact many chronic conditions. From what we eat to how much sleep we get, there are ways to reduce our risk of suffering from chronic disease.

If you’d like to understand why we often struggle with unhealthy lifestyle choices and which ones are worth changing today, join us for Preventive Health 101: How to Eat and Live to Prevent Disease on Thursday, April 22nd at 11:30 am PDT.

Meet Kristin Allen, Health Coach

I used to be 250 pounds and on meds for depression and high cholesterol. The moment I dropped just 20 pounds I no longer needed the meds! When I dropped 80 pounds I felt amazing! See, healthy really doesn't have to be hard!

I’m Here to Help!

We’re all guilty of making poor lifestyle choices from time to time. Who can blame us with all the temptations we’re surrounded by every day? The key is to limit these poor choices and replace them with healthier ones.

During Preventive Health 101: How to Eat and Live to Prevent Disease, we will focus on the prevention of chronic disease through:
- Anti-inflammatory eating
- Regular physical activity
- Nurturing positive mental health
- Fostering positive relationships
- And replacing unhealthy habits such as smoking

My goal is to help you achieve optimal health and wellness through disease prevention. We Health Coaches are uniquely positioned to help as we have a thorough understanding of not only nutritional aspects for prevention but also the mental and emotional components of reducing disease risk. And I might add, I've been there, I know.
